Thank You Elephant Shaker

Almost 4 years since my last post. Wow how things have changed. If there are any of my past followers still following, thank you!! I'm so sorry for the long, LONG absence. I have had some crazy things happening in my life which I will probably share in some future posts. I haven't been crafting much if at all in that time but I'm slowly getting back into it and I'm hoping to make it a regular part of my life again. I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but I no longer am. It is possible I may become one again in the future but just not right now. I will still continue to use their products because I do love them but I have also found some other products which I enjoy using. Having been away from crafting for so long it was real hard to find some inspiration. I took a trip over to My Favorite Things to see what their blog challenge was and I decided to play along. This was a sketch challenge. Sketch challenges are great because they give you the bones of your card layout and you go from there. This was their sketch:

Pretty basic sketch but millions of possibilities to it. Which was great for me because I needed something basic that I could take in any direction to get my creative juices flowing again.

I had ordered a few stamp sets from My Favorite Things a few months back that I hadn't even opened yet. One of which was these adorable elephants. I just felt like I had to use them. I had also really been wanting to make a shaker card as I had bought so many shaker toppings about 2 years ago from Queen & Co. while I was at a scrapbook expo and haven't gotten to use yet.

So all in all I was really happy with making this card as I was able to use my adorable elephants and shaker toppings. Pretty happy with how this turned out considering its the first one I've made in a long, long time.

I also entered this card into the ModSquadChallenge as there challenge was to use an animal themed stamp set. Can't wait to make something else and share with you. Hope to see you soon!

What Will You Stamp #65: Endless Birthday Wishes

Oh boy, I cant believe its been two months since I've last posted. Life has been crazy. With breaking my hand and then having a horse with a soft tissue injury and then the husband has been away in two separate time zones over the last two months time just slipped by. I came into my craft room and was just drawing a blank. I had lost my momentum. So I decided to try a challenge. Those often help get the creative juices flowing. I decided to play along with the What Will You Stamp challenge this week. I love looking at their challenges and having it be a set I already have. I actually cased this card (I'm sorry but I can't remember from who). They had used white embossing powder and alcohol markers to get the color. I don't have any alcohol markers so I ended up using Liquid Pearls instead. Although I don't love how it came out, I still like it.

Team Stamp it Easter Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp It Group Easter Blog Hop. My card isn't a traditional Easter card but more of a spring card. I've had the Circle of Spring stamp set for a while now and hadn't used it so, today is the day. I just love when more than one stamp set coordinates with framelits. So many options with the wreath framelits :)

I hope you enjoyed my project and continue on in our blog hop!

Balloon Celebration Bokeh Technique

The Bokeh Technique has been around for quite some time now. I love this technique but hadn't tried it until now. Wow! That's about all I can say. I just love how this card turned out! I decided to create a video so you too can try out this technique.

Hello Sunburst

Do you ever have one of those days where the weather outside is gloomy and your gloomy and you just need something to brighten your day? Well, I had one of those days. So I went into my craft room, as that always seems to help, and pulled out my Sunburst Sayings set. After creating this card, I wasn't so gloomy :)

Instead of using the die cut as a positive, I used it as a negative and sponged around it. I just love the bright cherry sun.

Team Stamp It Valentines Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp It Group Valentines Blog Hop. You are likely coming here from Lori Mueller's Blog. If you happened to just stumble across my blog, why not take a minute and visit all the blog participants by using the previous and next buttons at the end of this post to see all the great ideas and projects.

Todays card uses multiple sets from the new Occasions catalog. I knew right away that I wanted to use the Bloomin' Love set and the gorgeous Bloomin' Heart Thinlits.

I started by creating the background panel with the Timeless Textures set. I just love the plane from the Sky is the Limit set so I had to incorporate that some how too. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The Sky is the Limit set is only available during Sale-A-Bratiun. That means you can NOT buy this set. During Sale-A-Bration you earn free product with every $50 you spend and there is NO limit!! Sale-A-Bration is January 5th thru March 31st but the Sky is the Limit set is only available till February 15th. Contact me for more details.

I hope you enjoyed my project and continue on in our blog hop with Sheri Meyer at Sheri Stamps and enjoy all the wonderful projects in our Valentines blog hop!

After posting this I visited the SUO Challenge  as well as the What Will You Stamp and realized my card qualified for both of these challenges. So I decided to enter my card. :)
