Holiday Tag & Chalboard Technique

I decided to join in this week at Always Playing with Paper's Merry Monday Challenge because it was to design a project using the Chalkboard Technique. I have only used this technique a few times so I decided to play along.

Once I finished my project I realized it could be entered in the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge as well. Their challenge was to create a holiday tag.

When I first stamped the greeting I thought it said "Warm Winter Wishes". It wasn't until I took the picture of the card that I realized it actually said "Warm Wishes". Oh well. Lol :) I got the idea to outline the snowman from a card I seen on Pintrest. I also originally stamped the scarf directly onto the snowman but unfortunately the ink was too light and it just didn't look right with the black ink outlining the snowman so I had to stamp it on a scrap of whisper white and cut it out. The end result is SO much better.

Although my card only uses the chalkboard technique in the background and the tag is on the card, I think it still qualifies for both challenges... What do you think?

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Snow Day (131895C) (131892W)

Let it snow!

This weeks challenge at SUO Challenges was to create a project with snow. Since Christmas is on its way I figured I needed to make some Christmas cards and the Snowflake Soiree stamp set would be perfect for this challenges.

So.... Here's my entry:

Its a little hard to see in the picture but I sprayed the snowflake panel with spray adhesive then dipped it in Dazzling Diamonds. Gives it some shine. After all, Snowflakes do sparkle a bit right? :)

Striped Christmas Card

This week's challenge at Tis' The Season was a sketch challenge and the optional trimming was strips.

I didn't want to do the typical Christmas trimmings of ornaments and snowflakes, so I chose to make a reindeer. Rudolph to be exact! :)

I have no idea why the photo turned out so blurry but I took two separate ones and this was the best of the two. I'll try and get a better one later on but this will have to do for now.

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Sassy Salutations (126707)

Ink: Cherry Cobler (126966)

Colored Birthday Cake

This weeks challenge at The Friday Mashup was to create a project with cake using the colors Costal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.

Here's my entry:

When I seen the colors for the challenge I automatically thought of the Eastern Elegance DSP. Its perfect for this challenge and since the only stamp set I have that has a cake stamp is the Bring on the Cake set I automatically went to that. However, as you can see, I chose to make a layered cake out of the stamps rather than using the stamp with a cake on it. All in all, I think it came out ok. :)

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Bring on the cake (121958)

Ink: Costal Cabana (131175), Basic Gray (126981), 2013-2015 In Color Collection Stampin' Write Markers {Costal Cabana} (131260), Regals Collection Stampin' Write Markers {Crushed Curry} (131262), Neutrals Collection Stampin' Write Markers {Basic Gray} (131261)

Paper: Basic Gray (121044), Eastern Elegance DSP (130131), Whisper White (100730), Smoky Slate (131202)

Cool Tools: Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882), 1 1/4" Circle Punch (119861), Sticky Strip (104294)

The Perfect Touch: Recollections Clear Microbeads (Purchased from Michaels Craft Store)

Bright Christmas

I've decided to join in on the Tis' The Season challenges.

This week is a color challenge:

This is not a traditional Christmas color scheme so it was a bit challenging to even start this card. However, once I started, I just rolled with it. I actually quite like this bright card. :)

Its a bit hard to see in the pic but I used some spray glue and Dazzling Diamonds on the snow on the ground to give it just a bit more sparkle. :)

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Word Play (Retired)

Ink: Chocolate Chip (126979), Brights Collection Stampin' Write Markers {Melon Mambo} (131259)

Paper: Melon Mambo (115320), Tempting Turquoise (102067), Pear Pizzazz (131201), Chocolate Chip (102128), Whisper White (100730)

Masculine Birthday

This weeks challenge at The Paper Players was to create a Masculine Birthday Card. Masculine cards are always a bit hard for me as I have the urge to use a lot of glittery, pretty and girly embellishments. Since I recently purchased the World Map background stamp, I figured this was a perfect time to break it in!

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: World Map (130345), En Francis (127790), Well Scripted (Retired), Inkadinkado Costal (Purchased at JoAnns Arts & Crafts Store)

Ink: Soft Suede (126978)

Paper: Soft Suede (115318), Basic Black (121045), Very Vanilla (101650)

Cool Tools: Stampin' Distress Tool (127562)

The Perfect Touch: Metal Brads (Purchased at Michaels Craft Store), Hemp (Purchased at Michaels Craft Store)

A fall card

Its been so nice to be able to get back into my craft room. Its been long overdue!

This week I created a card that I originally planed to use for The Friday Mashup challenge 123 which is to create a project with a tree or leaves and to use the color orange. However, after looking at some other blog challenges, I've found I can enter this card into a few other challenges as well. So I've also entered it into Latenight Stamper's fall into fall challenge, Inky Impressions Fall/Autumn challenge and Around the World Fall or Spring challenge. I do believe this is the first time I've entered one card into 4 challenges. :)

So.... without further ado, here's my entry:

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Cloud 9 Leaves (Purchased at JoAnns)

Ink: Versa Mark (102283), Summer Starfruit (126991), Tangerine Tango (126946), Baked Brown Sugar (131174), Early Espresso (126974)

Paper: Very Vanilla (101650), Early Espresso (119686)

The Friday Mashup 131

Well, once again its been quite a while since my last blog entry. This time I have a good excuse. My husband and I just purchased our first home! I've been crazy busy with packing, moving, cleaning, unpacking and finding the right spot for all our things. Although its super exciting, its very stressful all at the same time. I'm even posting this blog entry today at a local wifi hot spot as we haven't even gotten our internet hooked up yet lol. Last night was the first time I've been in my craft room since our move. I seen this weeks Friday Mashup challenge last night while I was browsing on my phone lol. I just had to get in my craft room and make something for it.

So this weeks challenge was to use this sketch:

And to mash it up by making it a "spooky" project. With Halloween right around the corner I figured why not make a card for a friend who loves Halloween as much as I do.

So, here's my entry:

I took a second close up picture as they are hard to see in the first but I felt like the black background of the card just needed a little something so I used Versa Mark to stamp some spiders on.

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Inkadinkado All Hollow's Eve (Purchased at Michaels Craft Store)

Ink: Versa Mark (102283)

Casual Fridays Challenge #111, Sketch Saturday Challenge #271 & Dunamic Duos Challenge #65

This weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday is a Hexagon. They seem to be very in right now.

I also used the colors from the Dynamic Duos challenge.  When I seen these, I immediately thought "Baby card". Since I haven't ordered any of the new DSP since Stampin' Up! did their color refresh, I chose to use Pretty in Pink instead of the Blushing Bride.

And, since I threw on some of the vintage trinket brads that looked like buttons, I figured I might as well enter it into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge as well.

So... here's my entry:

All items used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Baby Steps (Retired)
