Let Us Drink Champagne

I decided I wanted to use my new Balloon Celebration set that I got in my Occasions Cataloge preorder. While looking at the set I realized I could manipulate the text images to say some different sayings. So I thought the Let Us Drink Champagne sentiment was perfect for a New Years card.

After putting the card together I realized the SUO Challenge this week was New Years. I also noticed the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge looked a bit like my card.

So I entered it into those two challenges. We will see what the judges think :)

ColorQ Challenge #321

This week over at the ColorQ they had a bit of a Christmas color challenge. Or at least I think of Christmas when I see these colors.

However, I had no need for any more Christmas cards so I used this color challenge for a birthday card. :)

For some reason my picture is a bit blurry so it's hard to see the "bomb wick" but it's there. I didn't have the Kiwi Kiss color so I substituted for Pear Pizzazz. I think it's pretty close.

My Greatest Adventure World

Another one of the must have sets for me in the Occasions catalog was the Going Global set. I ordered that one right away. It has a coordinating embossing folder and paper stack that I passed on originally. However, that lasted till I made my very first card with it today. Lets just say, the World Traveler embossing folder and the Going Places paper stack on traveling on their way to me as we speak lol. Although I'm quite happy with how the card turned out, I think those two items would have just made it a little better.

Advent Calander Tree

I had been wanting to make an advent calendar for a while now. So I finally did it :)

Not your traditional calendar but a calendar tree!! This was, no joke, probably the easiest project I have ever made. The part that took the longest was waiting for my husband to help me cut the cardboard (since my hand still isn't strong enough yet). I used a stamp set that I purchased at either JoAnns or Michales years ago for the numbers and the rest are all listed below. Hope you try this one out!

Box Man

As I was looking around my craft room I realized I had yet to use my Box Builder Punch Board. So, today was the day! :)

I just love these punch boards. So easy to use! How cute is this Snow Man Box?? A little twist on the traditional gift box. I used some ribbon scraps I had laying around for the scarf and hat band. Then jus cut a triangle for the nose.

Joy to the World Snowflurry

Did you purchase the spider web doilies? Now that October and Halloween are over are you having trouble with what to do with them? I love Halloween so much that I could make Halloween cards at least three times a week all year long, but I know not everyone feels the same. I was looking at the doilies and thinking, what else could I do with these suckers?? Then..... I flipped it over. Oh the possibilities!! :)

Snowflakes!! How perfect is that with winter upon us? I wanted to use up some of my paper scraps so Im not too sure what colors exactly are on this card as far as blue paper goes. If I had to make a guess, I would say Marina Mist and Soft Sky but to be completely honest they may not be Stampin' Up! colors at all, I know the printed vellum in the background is not and was purchased at JoAnn. I also ended up using the Arctic Snowflake punch by Martha Stewart as I haven't bought the Snow Flurry punch yet. Either way, I like how this turned out. Stay tuned for more out of the box spider web doily ideas ;)

Merry Everything

I had the Wondrous Wreath Framelits out from my last card so I decided to use them today, or at least that's what I had planned when I started this card. Its funny how you start out with one idea in your head and some how along the way you end up going in a totally different direction. Oh well, I'm still happy with the end result and really, that's all that matters :)

I'm pretty happy with how my water coloring came out. Especially since I had to do it with my left hand. Only a few mistakes ;) This would be a pretty quick and simple card if you needed a bunch. The water coloring took the longest and it didn't even take that long. Although I'm sure it would go much quicker if I was able to use my right hand. 5 more weeks..... :-/

Greatful Wreath

Well, once again its been a while since I last posted. I've been super busy with life and just hadn't had time. I broke my hand a week ago and just got the cast on Wednesday. So...  I should have some free time now lol. I'm off work till it heals and I most certainly cant do anything with the horses so I have plenty of time for creating! The problem, you may ask? Its my right hand, and I'm a righty :(
I took some time yesterday to play around a bit and see what I could, and couldn't, do. I think, overall, Ill be ok. :)

As I was looking around at my mess of a craft room, I seen a pile of stamp sets I had ordered but hadn't used yet. Among them was the Wondrous Wreath set. I figured it was the perfect place to start.

I  used the matching framelits to cut out the wreath and bow then fussy cut the banner. Not too bad for a casted hand and only the use of two fingers :)

Thanksgiving Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp It Group Thanksgiving Blog Hop. You are likely coming here from Karen Page's Blog. If you happened to just stumble across my blog, why not take a minute and visit all the blog participants by using the previous and next buttons at the end of this post to see all the great ideas and projects. When I think of Thanksgiving I think of fall and when I think of fall I think of the changing colors and the falling leaves. So I chose to use the Sheltering Tree paired with the Vintage Leaves set for my card:

I stamped the leaves first then used the framelits to cut them out. I used some gold embossing powder to give a little pop to the smallest leaf then I layered them on top of each other and tied the stems together with some linen thread.

I've been playing with deminsion on my cards a lot lately and just felt this needed a little something. A few months back I had found the Flower Soft products. I used some of the Autumn colored Flower Soft on the tree. I love how it turned out! Have you ever used Flower Soft? If so, I'd love to see what you created. :)

I hope you enjoyed my project and continue on in our blog hop with Tami White at Stamp with Tami and enjoy all the wonderful projects in our Thanksgiving blog hop!

Delightful Garden in Bloom

Today we head back home from the coast. I sure will miss it. Its almost fall here in California and although I know we need the winter to come with all its rain, my heart still wants it to be summer. Or perhaps spring as its a more tolerable temperature. I still had the Garden in Bloom set out from a few projects ago so I grabbed for that for this card.

Scary Window Scene

Today my husband and I are headed to the coast for a few days for our anniversary. I can't believe how quickly 3 years has gone by. I was trying to get some projects done for post this week before I left and I had the Among the Branches set laying out after creating the card for our blog hop and I decided to do a little something different with it. I used the embossed tree image behind the window cut out. Isn't it great??

This is also the first time I've used the brick wall embossing folder. Oh boy, do I see lots more cards using that!!
